Los Angeles based band Alanna & These Fine Gentlemen are known for their classy, sultry, and nostalgic tone. Melding jazz, bossa-nova and pop, they have a swanky vibe right out of a Pink Panther film. All of their song selections are rooted with the welcoming voice of Alanna, who will often switch between English, Portuguese, and her trombone. She is backed by the finest of gentlemen with Shin Kawasaki on guitar and bass, Christopher Spilsbury on guitar and Amos Przekaza on drums.
In addition to performing at private parties and corporate events around Southern California, they have had long standing residencies at The Rosewood Miramar, Hotel Casa Del Mar, The Everly Hotel and Seventy7 Lounge. The band continues to build a local and dedicated fanbase and hopes to expand that with their multiple music releases. You can find them on all streaming platforms.
Meet the Band-
Alanna Vicente started playing trombone in high school after her music teacher convinced her she was perfect for the instrument because she had “long arms” — and he also had too many flute players. Years later, while working as a model in Los Angeles and New York she fell in love with the jazz scene and started singing out with a couple bands. She began writing her own songs, one of which “Pop! Goes My Heart” was co -written with Andrew Wyatt and featured in Hugh Grant’s rom-com, Music & Lyrics. Currently, she performs regularly with multiple bands engaging her love of storytelling through music, songwriting, photography and acting.
Lead guitarist/bassist/singer/producer Shin Kawasaki, is a legend on his own. He grew up in Japan and came to LA in 1999 to play music. Shin has worked with Emmy-winning composer Misha Segal and contributed to countless live recordings such as SanDisk, Turkey Shoot Music Festival, Japan Self-Defense Airforce, NHK Enterprises, KDDI, & Japan Airlines. Shin is also a two-time Independent Music Awards finalist (Album/Eclectic).
A versatile performer on guitar, bass, and drums, multi-instrumentalist Chris Spilsbury is a graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston and has studied privately with many renowned percussionists, guitarists and composers. Chris has worked with many eclectic international artists in his career, including Grammy-winning virtuoso jazz pianist Hiromi Uehara, Grammy-nominated composer Chris Opperman, film and television composers Frank Machia, Evan Beigel, Francisco Goizueta, and more. As well as multiple productions with the ground breaking theater company East West Players, with shows including "The last 5 years", "The Who's: Tommy", "Spring Awakening", "Assassins", "Flower Drum Song" and more...
Amos Przekaza is the band’s drummer. He moved from Michigan to Los Angeles in 2003, and has been playing a variety of gigs ever since. He studied privately with Zoro the Drummer, Ivo Nakov, and Bruce Becker. Amos works in multiple genres of music, from rock shows to jazz and musical theater.
